1. What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
International Women’s Day signifies to me a celebration of the contributions of all women; whether to our mothers for bringing us to this world or our female employees for giving 100% every day whilst raising their own families. It's a reminder of the progress we've made and the work that still lies ahead for all of us, in creating a better, more inclusive future for our children.
2. Could you share what has your career taught you about yourself and how it has shaped your leadership style or approach?
I started my career as a management consultant with Oliver Wyman and that experience taught me the importance of hard work, flexibility, and effective communication. These are the qualities I uphold not only as a leader in the corporate world but have also shaped me as a mother and a daughter.
3. In your opinion, what are the most significant barriers preventing women from reaching leadership position?
In my opinion, I believe the most significant barriers preventing women from reaching leadership roles include the lack of family or organizational support, as well as limited access to mentorship and networking opportunities. We have improved a lot over the last few years, but this is something we need to continue to strive to improve further.
4. What message do you have for women aspiring to take on leadership roles, based on your own experiences and journeys?
To women aspiring to take on leadership roles, I would say: Believe in yourself and your abilities, cultivate a strong support network, and continuously seek opportunities for growth and development. Embrace challenges as opportunities for learning and growth, and never stop learning.
